Well, we think we have sold the house. It is under contract. Right now we are waiting on the results of the home inspection (more about that later) and the appraisal. If both of those things come back good, then I guess it will be a done deal.
The home inspection was last Thursday. They were scheduled to come at 12:30. I left at 11:00 and was gone about 3 hours. I got home at around 2:30 and they were still here. How long does it take to inspect a house?? I tried to think of somewhere else to go to wait them out, but couldn’t think of anyplace to go. I hadn’t had lunch, so I went over to Sonic to get a corndog. Came back, still there. I saw someone leave, but the buyer was still there with the inspector. Turns out, the realtor was the one who left because they all said they were done. He leaves, they go back into the house for another HOUR. I called Ray and asked him how long this was supposed to take. He called the realtor and asked him. He said they were supposed to be finished, that’s why he left, so he headed back over to the house to see what was going on. In the meantime, I’m parked across the street so I can see what’s going on. Finally, the woman comes out of the house with the inspectors; she gets in the car and leaves, just as the realtor gets back. He stops to chat with the inspectors and I finally pull into the garage. I go out as the inspectors leave and find out what the deal is with the realtor. I guess the woman’s english is so poor she has to ask questions twice and then try to understand the explainations .
The inspection report came back. I guess we have some areas that look as if there has been water leakage. We have never noticed any. There’s a few minor things and a couple of bigger projects. If they want us to fix them all they may have to let us stay in the house a little longer to get them done.
I don’t dare to really start packing in case this doesn’t happen. I don’t mind having an excuse not to pack, but it’ll mean having to do it in a lot less time if it does happen.
I hate this!
Oh Mommy! I’m so sorry. It sounds like this whole move is really putting you through the ringer. I wish there was something I could do to help:) Be happy and know that I am praying for you that the house is really sold.
Best of luck with selling the house. I enjoy reading about the ups and downs of the process, but I hope there are a lot more ups in the future!
