I think I mentioned the part in moving about perfect strangers going through your house, nit-piking about your decorating choices. Well, that’s just what you have to do when you house is for sale. I don’t really mind it, because I usually don’t see the people who come through, since I vacate the premises before they arrive (so the house appears to be a model home..). But we’ve had a few people through that our realtor said were very interested. Really? Have we seen an offer yet? NOPE! We had an older Oriental couple come through Sunday morning while we were at church. They had a lot of questions and seemed very interested. They were supposed to meet with the realtor yesterday to go over things and I thought, write up an offer. But we haven’t heard from the realtor yet, so an offer must not be forthcoming. Actually, if I have any choice, I would rather a family move in, not an older couple. This is a family home with 7 bedrooms. It would seem rather a waste of all that space if only a couple moved in. But, I will take anyone who makes an offer at this point.
One does feel a certain responsibility to the neighborhood to get someone in here who will fit in and be an asset to the community. Especially since we know practically everyone in the neighborhood pretty well. But none of them seem to have put the word out to their friends that this home is available if they are interested.
A realtor came by yesterday to preview the home for a client. He thought they would be very interested. They want to stay in this school district, they want enough room in the yard to put in a pool and they have 4 kids. They haven’t looked at any 2 storey homes, so he was not sure they would want to look at ours, but he was going to talk it up to them. We’ll see if he comes back with them.
I just hate this getting the hopes up, and then nothing happening. It makes it a little hard to plan the future. Will we be here? Will the boys start school here? Should we start packing a little so we don’t have to do it in a rush? Or are we going to be here for another whole year? AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!
